Is Ukraine Safe Right Now?

One of the most frequently asked questions in search engines is how safe it is in Ukraine right now. And it's not surprising, as due to the full-scale invasion of an aggressor country into Ukraine in February 2022, our country is still under a state of war.

Ukraine is a large country, so the sense of safety depends directly on the region. Currently, the situation in Kherson and Zaporizhia is drastically different from, for example, Truskavets and Chernivtsi. It's like two different realities, unfortunately.

But when it comes to territories further away from the front line, thanks to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, it's relatively calm there now. Compared to previous periods, air raid alarms are less frequent. More displaced people are returning from abroad to their homes. World leaders and celebrities regularly visit Ukrainian cities. Well-known global brands that suspended their operations at the beginning of the invasion are returning one after another. New businesses, including numerous cafes and restaurants, are opening. People are working, resting, supporting the military, and living their lives even more brightly. Because the war has shown what is truly valuable and that important things should not be postponed until tomorrow.

Unfortunately, the war is still ongoing. There are certain risks. However, following certain simple rules allows you to stay safe. The key is not to ignore air raid signals and, in the event of their announcement, immediately seek shelter. To do this, it's important to know where nearby shelters are located. In addition, insurance against military risks is a reliable way to protect yourself. Having an insurance policy allows you to be more confident in your ability to recover losses and ensure financial stability in the conditions of a military conflict. Before purchasing a policy, it's recommended to carefully review the terms and coverage to understand what risks it includes and what losses it can compensate for.  Buy an insurance policy here.

As for safety in Kyiv, the capital is protected by modern air defense systems. The underground network of metro stations serves as shelter around the clock. In case of aerial attacks in Kyiv, underground shelters are arranged. You can find their addresses on a special map at https://gis.kyivcity.gov.ua/shelter/. In total, there are nearly five thousand of such shelters in the capital.

In Kyiv, the curfew is in effect from 00:00 to 05:00. During this time, it is prohibited to be outside on the streets and in public places, or to use transportation without a special pass, or to walk. However, you are allowed to go outside to reach the nearest shelter in case of an air raid. It's also important to adhere to blackout regulations during the curfew.

It's worth emphasizing that safety is also an emotional state, where a person feels that their physical and psychological well-being is not under threat. Therefore, it's important to take care of your positive and stable psycho-emotional state, in any place and under any circumstances.
