Ukraine is gaining more and more supporters among foreign citizens who want to visit the country for various reasons. However, it is important to know the entry rules into Ukraine that apply to foreigners before traveling. In this article, we will consider the general requirements and rules that all foreigners wishing to enter Ukraine must comply with.
Authorized officials of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine act in accordance with the Law of Ukraine "On Border Control" and provide foreign citizens and stateless persons with permission to cross the state border of Ukraine if they meet the following conditions:
- Have a valid passport document (which must be valid for the entire duration of their stay in the country). Citizens of Turkey and Georgia can enter Ukraine if they have an ID card, which has been possible since March 2019;
- Do not have a decision from an authorized state authority of Ukraine regarding the ban on entry into Ukraine;
- Have a relevant entry visa if provided for by the legislation of Ukraine;
- Can confirm the purpose of their planned stay;
- Have sufficient financial means for the planned period of stay, for return to the country of origin or transit to a third country, or have the ability to obtain sufficient financial means by legal means in Ukraine.
IMPORTANT! All foreign citizens and holders of temporary residence permit regardless of the country of arrival for entry into Ukraine must have an insurance policy (certificate) issued by an insurance company registered in Ukraine, covering expenses related to medical treatment COVID-19, observation, and valid for the entire period of stay in Ukraine.
Obtain insurance for entry into Ukraine.
Compliance with these rules is an important stage of travel preparation and will help to avoid possible difficulties at the border.
